Now that Football is back, and everyone is geared up for Fantasy and Sunday games, how will this year's season turn out? BBC Inc. recently read an article about Adrian Peterson and his plans on coming back strong this season. After Week 1 and scoring two touchdowns, this Vikings player has shown what it means to never settle.
After tearing his ACL and MCL last season, most fans thought Adrian Peterson would be out for most of 2012. However, Peterson's recovery has been nothing short of amazing. Starting with his ability to get to surgery quickly, Peterson has met or exceeded every target along the way. Given that his injury was so late in the 2011 season, no one anticipated Peterson would realistically be in the mix for Week 1 in 2012.
"I'm ready to play," Peterson said. "If that's 10 snaps, five, 25, 30, I'm ready to roll. That's my mindset and how I'm feeling about it. So, I'm just going to keep my mindset pointed in that direction." -Tom Pelissero of ESPN Twin Cities.
How could this be when most players would not be able to accomplish this? Vikings head trainer Eric Sugarman reports "Adrian has a great work ethic. Adrian has the DNA to heal quickly, which he has shown in the past. He certainly will have the desire and the mental toughness to be able to get through the rehab process, which will take months and months, as you know. So, I think if anyone can get better quickly and safely in that time period, it would be Adrian Peterson."
Most people, when caught in a tough situation, will allow their circumstances to dictate their outcome. Or their success. What we love most about this story is that this player DECIDED to go against all odds. Beyond his mental toughness and DNA, Peterson worked extremely hard to be able to come back fighting this season. We are excited to see how he does and how his story will play out this season.
